This 80-hour class is designed for anyone needing additional time to prepare or for English language learners interested in Certified Nursing Assistant training. Small class size boosts student’s confidence, willingness to ask questions, and establishes good study habits. Focus is on vocabulary of healthcare and critical thinking necessary to help prepare students for the written portion of the CNA test.

15 hours of communication soft skills training includes teamwork, interpersonal skills, worth ethic, attitude, time management, and conflict management.

This 81-hour course was developed for underemployed, unemployed and New Americans for Skilled Trades training in construction and manufacturing. Emphasis is placed on specific needs of the workplace for vocabulary, safety and math. Also included is eight hours of communication soft skills training and workforce expectations.

Module Breakdown:

  • Math: Applied math including measurement (rulers and angles), understanding paychecks, computation (adding, subtracting, dividing, and multiplying fractions, reducing fractions, converting fractions to decimals and vice versa).
  • Safety: Names of safety gear and how to request it, how to report illnesses and accidents, understanding workplace safety and signs, and safe behavior on the job.
  • Communication Skills for the Workplace: Critical thinking skills, teamwork, interpersonal skills, work ethic and attitude, time management, and conflict management.
  • English: Names of tools and uses, staying healthy and ergonomics, reading comprehension, practice completing forms and writing.

Through this 81-hour training participants will learn workplace safety along with the proper use and operation of basic hand and power tools in the construction and manufacturing industry. Students will learn how to read measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and print reading. Safety classroom portion of forklift training is also included along with 8 hours of leadership training. Introduction to computers and job search skills.

  • Achieve Global Soft Skills/Communication Training - 8 hours
