2021 NDSCS Commencement Ceremony 

It was announced on March 25, 2021, Commencement will be held in-person on Friday, May 14, 2021 at 3 p.m. at the Ed Werre Arena in the Clair T. Blikre Activities Center in Wahpeton, N.D.

Important Information for Graduates
  • Graduates should not attend if they were recently exposed to someone with COVID-19, they have symptoms consistent with COVID-19, or they have been identified by a state health department official that they were in close contact with someone who had COVID-19.
  • Graduates can expect to receive a verification email on April 7 to confirm their participation in the 2021 NDSCS Commencement Ceremony. Graduates will only receive this email if they have submitted their graduation petition by April 7.
  • Official graduation attire/regalia (caps and gowns) may be purchased at the Bookstore. You MUST wear full graduation regaliaor you will not be permitted to participate in the ceremony.
  • EVERY graduate will be required to wear a face covering throughout the ceremony. NDSCS masks will be provided to every student participating. These are the only mask/face covering that are allowed and is considered part of the full graduation attire/ regalia. All official diplomas will be sent to students in the mail. Students participating in the ceremony will receive a diploma cover as they cross the stage.
  • Due to COVID-19 regulations for large gatherings/events NDSCS is required to limit the number of overall attendees. Each graduate will receive four (4) unique tickets for guests to attend the graduation ceremony. Students will receive their tickets on April 26 via their Official NDSCS email address – students MUST complete a graduation petition (see above) and indicate their intent to participate to receive their tickets.
  • Graduates must report to the Blikre Activities Center (BAC), entering through the Northwest doors by 2:15 p.m.; doors open at 1:45 p.m.
  • Detailed information and instructions will be shared with graduates on April 26, May 5, and May 10 through their NDSCS email.
  • Lifetouch Photography will be taking professional pictures of the graduates as they receive their diplomas. Students are under no obligation to purchase their graduation picture. You will also be given an opportunity to purchase more than one copy of the picture if you so choose.

  • Graduates are responsible for providing the tickets to their guests. Guests must have them to attend/enter the BAC.
  • Guests will only be allowed to enter the SOUTH doors of the Blikre Activities Center (BAC); Doors will open at 1:45 p.m. and will close promptly at 2:50 p.m. (NO EXCEPTIONS).
  • Guests may print the ticket codes or show them via an electronic device at the gate.
  • Face coverings are required to worn by guests, employees, and graduates throughout the ceremony; disposable masks will be available for those that do not have them.
  • A graduation program will be available when entering the Ed Were Arena. Additional programs may be available after the ceremony.
  • Guests will be ushered to their seats. Once seated, guests must remain seated for the event. Professional photographs of the graduate will be available.
  • For guests that do not have a ticket or are unable, the entire commencement ceremony will be live streamed.

Graduation Petition Form

  • To receive your degree or diploma, you must apply for graduation using the Graduation Petition Form
  • If you plan to continue enrollment at NDSCS for the following term after graduation, you must file a Continuing Enrollment Form with the Enrollment Services Office.
