Scheduling & Fees:
  • Students must allow sufficient time to begin and complete their exams prior to the closing time of the test center.
  • NDSCS Students taking NDSCS exams are not required to schedule exam times and service is free of charge.
  • Non-NDSCS testers using proctoring services are required to schedule exam times at least two days in advance and will be charged a fee of $20 per exam.

Test Center Guidelines for Students

Students must:
  • Show a Student ID or photo ID.
  • Complete the test in one sitting based on the instructor's guidelines regarding the testing time allowed.
  • Follow Test Center procedures including the Test Center Academic Integrity procedure.
  • Tests should be taken during the students scheduled class hours unless special arrangements have been made in advance with the instructor.
  • Communicate with their instructor about make-up exams and alternative test times.
The following are not permitted in the testing center:
  • Food or beverage 
  • Cell phones/hand-held devices/smartwatch
  • Book bags or handbags
  • Children
  • Unauthorized outside class literature
Accommodations for Testing
  • Students are responsible for meeting with the accessibility coordinator to arrange disability related testing accommodations.
  • Students are encouraged to discuss accommodated testing with their individual instructors in a confidential environment.

ACCUPLACER Testing

Accuplacer testing is used for English & Math Course Placement at NDSCS. For more information regarding Accuplacer testing or the NDSCS Course Placement Policy, go to the English & Math Placement page.

Kaplan Nursing Admissions Test (KNAT)

The Kaplan Nursing Admissions Test (KNAT) is a 91-question, online, multiple-choice test that evaluates the basic reading, math, writing, and science skills of students seeking entry into a nursing program at NDSCS.

Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) Test by ATI

The ATI TEAS is designed to assess a student’s preparedness for entering a health program. NDSCS uses TEAS testing for application to the Dental Assisting, Dental Hygiene, & Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) programs. The ATI test is comprised of 170 multiple-choice questions in the areas of Reading, Math, Science and English and Language Usage.
