NDSCS Commencement Ceremony Set for Friday, May 16th

North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS) will hold its 2025 Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 16 at 3:00 p.m. in the Ed Werre Arena, located within the Clair T. Blikre Activities Center in Wahpeton. The event will recognize approximately 700 graduates from the Wahpeton campus, NDSCS-Fargo, and the College’s online programs. 

Faculty Senate President Benjamin Whitmore will lead the academic processional as Stage Marshal, and Dr. Lisa Karch, Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, will serve as Master of Ceremonies. The program will feature remarks from NDSCS President Dr. Rod Flanigan, Dr. Karch, and ND State Board of Higher Education Member Jeffry Volk, who will also oversee the conferral of degrees, diplomas, and certificates. 

Additional speakers include Brigadier General Mitchell Johnson, Adjutant General of the North Dakota National Guard, and Aiden Hoff, NDSCS Student Senate President. NDSCS Wildcat Singer, Tanner Garrigan, will perform the National Anthem and a musical selection during the ceremony. 

Associate Vice President of Student Affairs, Melissa Johnson, will read the names of the students participating in the ceremony. 

Admission is free and open to the public. Guests may enter through the south doors of the Blikre Activities Center beginning at 1:45 p.m. Doors will close at 2:50 p.m. to allow the ceremony to begin promptly at 3:00 p.m. Seating is first-come, first-served, and seat saving will not be allowed so guests are encouraged to arrive with their full party. 

For those unable to attend in person, a livestream of the ceremony will be available at NDSCS.edu/Graduation on the day of the event.
