NDSCS Performing Arts Department to Present Fall Play November 8-10

The North Dakota State College of Science Performing Arts Department will present its fall play, Twelve Angry Men, nightly at 7:00 p.m. November 8-10, 2016 in the Bremer Bank Theatre in the Harry Stern and Ella Stern Cultural Center on the NDSCS campus in Wahpeton. Admission to the play is free.

Twelve Angry Men, based on the Emmy award winning television movie by Reginald Rose, is adapted by Sherman L. Sergel and produced by special arrangement with the Dramatic Publishing Company of Woodstock, Illinois.

Richman receives Presidential Excellence Award

North Dakota State College of Science President John Richman was recently presented with the NASPA Region IV-West Presidential Excellence Award at the organization’s regional conference.

In presenting Richman with the award, the organization recognized Richman for embodying “the spirit of the student affairs profession through continually demonstrating his passion and commitment to supporting students’ success.”

The award for Presidential Excellence is presented to a college or university president who has, over a sustained period of time, advanced the quality of student life on campus by supporting Student Affairs staff and programs. Recipients have had direct involvement in enhancing the quality of student life on campus, actively attempted to involve students and student life in governing the institution, and demonstrable contributions to the profession, which have an impact beyond their campus.

NASPA – Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education – is the leading association for the advancement, health and sustainability of the student affairs profession. NASPA’s work provides high-quality professional development, advocacy and research for 15,000 members in all 50 states, 25 countries and 8 U.S. territories.

NDSCS Performing Arts to present Holiday Concert December 8

The North Dakota State College of Science Concert Band and Concert Choir will hold their annual Holiday Concert at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at the Bremer Bank Theatre in the Harry Stern and Ella Stern Cultural Center on the NDSCS campus in Wahpeton.

The Concert Band will perform five selections under the direction of Dr. Adam Hollingsworth, and the Concert Choir will perform five numbers under the direction of Bryan Poyzer. The concert will also include two vocal ensemble performances.

The concert is free and open to the public. Free-will donations will be accepted at a reception following the performance in the lobby.
