North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS) is getting ready to celebrate one of its longest-running and most beloved traditions: Agawasie Day! This fun-filled event, taking place on Thursday, May 8, is reserved only for NDSCS students and employees, with the exception of the popular Agawasie Day Car Show, which is open to the public.

The Agawasie Day Car Show welcomes public participation from 1:00–4:00 p.m. on the NDSCS Oval. Registration is free and open to all—students, employees, and the general public. Categories include car, truck, motorcycle, and tractor, and the deadline to register a vehicle is Monday, May 5th. Trophies will be awarded for Best in Class in each category, along with an overall Best in Show. To register or learn more, visit NDSCS.edu/Agawasie or call 701-671-2401.

Public Notice: There will be amplified music playing on campus throughout the afternoon and into the evening as part of the celebration. Community members in nearby neighborhoods are advised that there will be elevated noise levels throughout the day—thanks for your understanding while we enjoy the festivities

Agawasie Day is a long-standing tradition at NDSCS, tracing its roots back to 1914 with the debut of the College’s first yearbook, The Agawasie. The arrival of the yearbook became a day for celebration, hence the start of the annual Agawasie Day picnic. Though the yearbook itself is no longer published, the celebration continues each spring as a fun, final hurrah before finals week.
