The North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS) proudly announces the appointment of Karl Griffor as the new Vice President of Operations for the NDSCS-Fargo location, as well as for the highly anticipated NDSCS Career Innovation Center (CIC), slated to open its doors in 2025.

Griffor, an esteemed military veteran who retired from the Army in 2005, boasts an extensive career transition, moving from defense contracting into education. After obtaining an Arizona K-12 CTE teaching certificate in Industrial and Emerging Technology, Griffor enriched minds as a public school teacher and later, as a Cybersecurity educator at Cochise College. He eventually climbed the ranks to become the Dean of Workforce Development there. Today, he prepares to lead NDSCS's operations in Fargo, encompassing both the current establishment and the forthcoming CIC.

When asked about his enthusiasm for his new role in Fargo, Griffor expressed, “The possibilities for growth are limitless. Fargo, and indeed North Dakota, is experiencing a new era of expansion. NDSCS is perfectly poised to be a guiding light in nurturing and bolstering that growth.”

The NDSCS Career Innovation Center, located at 4230 64th Avenue South, represents the future of education and workforce training in Fargo. The 87,000 square-foot CIC will offer an assortment of academic programs and training modules ranging from Construction and IT to Agriculture and General Education.

President Rod Flanigan, Ph.D. remarks, “Mr. Griffor has demonstrated strong leadership skills through years of experience both in the military and in higher education. Karl’s affable personality and the ability to develop strong relationships with people of all ages and of all levels of responsibility make him the perfect fit for the position. He will help us build a stronger presence in the Fargo market by building relationships with area high schools, local business and industry professionals, and with elected officials. We are very excited to have Mr. Griffor on staff and look forward to many years of strong enrollment growth in the Fargo area.”

Griffor envisions NDSCS playing an even more integral role in Fargo's educational landscape. "While our operations in Fargo already make significant contributions, we’re gearing up to enhance our service offerings. With the CIC on the horizon, we anticipate a surge in dual-credit options for high school students, offering them improved avenues for education and employment."

In addition to comprehensive academic programs, NDSCS-Fargo provides a holistic educational environment that champions attainability, affordability, convenience, credibility, and relevance. Offering academic options in diverse fields like Business Management, EMS, ICT, and Welding Technology, NDSCS-Fargo prepares students to confront the challenges of the modern job market. For those considering a future with NDSCS, both the current Fargo location and the forthcoming CIC represent unparalleled opportunities for academic and professional growth.
