Since July 1, 2017, North Dakota State College of Science has operated with a budget slightly over $35 million for the 2017-19 biennium.
That $35 million budget is $10 million less than NDSCS’ 2015-17 budget. It reflects a 20 percent funding cut that caused three budget adjustments between April-June 2017. January 2018 marks NDSCS reaching the conclusion of the 2017-19 biennium’s first quarter.
“We had to reduce our workforce by approximately 14 percent (48 total positions),” said NDSCS President Dr. John Richman. “We also had to reduce several operating budgets to align our projected revenue with our projected expenses. Our new workloads and new work processes began being implemented on July 1 (2017).”
