Dual Credit Students

Are you interested in earning college credit while still in high school? Save money and time and get ahead by enrolling in a college credit class today. Plus, you’ll earn dual credit—earning both high school and college credits while still fulfilling high school requirements. Take college classes offered through your high school or an NDSCS class taught over ITV/IVN technology.

Advantages of Dual-Credit Courses:

  • Save on the immediate and long-term costs of a college education.
  • Ease into college classes in a comfortable, familiar environment with smaller class sizes.
  • The letter grade received in the course is the same and is posted on both high school and college transcripts.
  • Most college transcripts will not differentiate between college courses taught on campus and those taught to high school students as dual-credit courses.

Entry Level Requirements for English and Math

NDSCS has implemented entry-level requirements for English and math classes. Students need 18 or higher on their ACT English and reading scores to take English classes. Students need 21 or higher on their ACT math score to take math classes.

Students with scores below those required or who have not taken an ACT test may take the COMPASS assessment to determine course placement. COMPASS is an online testing program administered at approved test sites around the United States. NDSCS is an approved test site.

To arrange for a COMPASS test at NDSCS, contact Enrollment Services. If you are not near Wahpeton, contact Cindy Barton toll free 1-800-342-4325, ext. 3-2347 for information about a COMPASS test site in your region.

Below are forms used for dual credit students to register for NDSCS credit classes.

To register for college classes, students need to complete the application and registration forms prior to the beginning of the semester in which the classes will be taught.

A one-time application fee of $35 will need to be submitted with the application.
