North Dakota Residents
Bring a valid ND ID
A valid ND ID shows your name, address, and date of birth, options below:
- ND Driver’s license, or
- ND Nondriver’s identification card, or
- Tribal government issued identification
What if my valid ND ID lists a different address than my current address?
If your valid ID does not include all the information required (name, address, and date of birth) or the address is not where you currently live, you must also present any of the following:
- A current utility bill; or
- A current bank statement; or
- A check or document issued by a federal, state, local or tribal government; or
- A paycheck; or
If you do not have any of the above, NDSCS students (Wahpeton and Fargo) may vote using their valid ND ID, student ID (with photo and legal name), and a letter issued by NDSCS.
Wahpeton Students
Students may request the letter at the Customer Service Desk, Hektner Student Center. The letter will be printed on institutional letterhead and contain the student’s name, current address, and date of birth. This letter, along with a NDSCS student ID (containing the student’s photograph and legal name, and a valid ND ID will be needed for the student to vote.
Vote at Wahpeton Event Center at 995 21st Ave N, Wahpeton, ND from 7am – 7 pm.
Fargo Students
Students may request the letter at the front desk (near main entry) of the Fargo location. The letter will be printed on institutional letterhead and contain the student’s name, current address, and date of birth. This letter, along with a NDSCS student ID (containing the student’s photograph and legal name, and a valid ND ID will be needed for the student to vote.
