CampusConnection Help

The CampusConnection portal provides secure and convenient access to your personal and campus information. With your User ID and password, you can return anytime to register for classes, check your grades, review your bill and update personal information.

CLAIM YOUR NDSCS ACCOUNT

  1. Go to http://helpdesk.ndus.edu/ndusaccount
  2. Click Claim an NDUS Account
  3. Answer the 12-question Acceptable Use Quiz
  4. Enter your Date of Birth (mm/dd/yyyy) and EMPLID (or 7-digit Student ID number)
  5. Click Continue
    • The resulting screen will display the new UserID (typically in the firstname.lastname format) you should use when you log in to Campus Connection.
  6. Click Continue
  7. Enter and confirm your new password
    • The password must contain between 8 and 16 characters and include one of each:
      • English uppercase and lowercase characters
      • (A through Z)
      • Base 10 digits (0 through 9)
      • Nonalphanumeric characters
      • ` ~ ! @ # $ % ^ * ( ) _ + - = { } | [ ] \ : “ ; ? , . /
    • Passwords cannot contain your name or user name.
    • No spaces are allowed.
  8. Click the Save button
  9. Provide answers to at least 3 of the Authentication Questions (to be used for recovering your password)
  10. Click Save

ACTIVATE YOUR ELECTRONIC ID

  1. Go to http://enroll.nodak.edu
  2. Click Continue
  3. In the box that says, If you do not know you Electronic ID and password, enter your Last Name and Student ID/Emplid
  4. Click Continue
  5. Enter your default password (XxxSSYYYY format)
    • Xxx are the first three letters of your birth month with the first letter capitalized
    • SS are the middle two digits in your Social Security number
    • YYYY are the digits of your birth year
  6. Your Electronic ID will be displayed

ACTIVATE YOUR NDSCS EMAIL ACCOUNT

Note: Students must register for classes 48 hours prior to activating their NDSCS email account.

  1. Go to www.outlook.com
  2. Enter your log-in/username, (typically in the firstname.lastname format) @ndscs.edu.
  3. Enter your default password. ndscsAB1111
    • ndscs (in lower case letters)
    • the initials of your first and last name (initials are capitalized)
    • last four digits of your student ID (i.e. EmplID) number.

Upon activation of this account, you will be required to change your password and provide information requested by Microsoft.

You will be required by Microsoft to verify your account and agree to the Terms of Use.

If you wish to change your password:

  1. Log in with your my.ndscs.edu login and password.
  2. Click Options > See All Options.
  3. On the right hand side, click Change Your Password
  4. In the window that opens, your account information will be displayed.
  5. Click Change Password to change your password.
  6. Follow the prompts to do this.

If you forgot your password:

  1. At the login screen, log in with your my.ndscs.edu login and click Forgot My Password
  2. If you don’t remember the secret question or hint that you set, please contact the Help Desk. The Help Desk will assist you in resetting your password.

SIGNING ON TO CAMPUS CONNECTION

  1. Click on CampusConnection link on www.ndscs.edu
  2. Enter UserID and Password
    • The User ID will be your Electronic ID (Ex. Firstname.Lastname). The Password will have a combination of letters and numbers. It is case sensitive.
  3. Click Sign In

FORGOT MY PASSWORD

  1. Go to http://helpdesk.ndus.edu/ndusaccount
  2. Click I Forgot My NDUS Account Password
  3. Enter your User ID (Firstname.Lastname) click Next
  4. Answer 3 prompted security questions
  5. Click Login
  6. Enter new password
  7. Confirm password
  8. Click Change Password
    • The password must contain at least 8 characters from three of the following four categories:
      • English uppercase characters (A through Z)
      • English lowercase characters (a through z)
      • Base 10 digits (0 through 9)
      • Nonalphanumeric characters
      • ` ~ ! @ # $ % ^ * ( ) _ + - = { } | [ ] \ : “ ; ? , . /
    • No spaces are allowed.
    • Passwords cannot contain 3 or more consecutive characters of any part of your name.

CHANGE MY AUTHENTICATION QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

  1. Log in at https://provisioning.ndus.edu/idm/user/login.jsp
  2. User ID = firstname.lastname format
  3. Click Change My Authentication Questions and Answers
  4. Provide answers to at least 3 of the Authentication Questions
  5. Click Save

UPDATING YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION

  1. Log on to CampusConnection
  2. In the left navigation menu, click Campus Personal Information
  3. Click on a link to view/update your:
    • Names (Preferred and Legal)
    • Addresses (Home, Mail, Permanent or Parent)
    • Phone Numbers
    • Email Addresses
    • Emergency Contacts

Students are responsible for keeping NDSCS current with address and contact information. (The Legal name listed in CampusConnection is how your name will appear on your diploma, and the Home address will be used for almost all mailed correspondence.)

VIEW HOLDS

Not all holds prevent registering for classes; some service indicators are for information only. Check with the appropriate office for additional information.

  1. Log on to CampusConnection
  2. In the left navigation menu, click: ‘Student Center’ or ‘Campus Personal Info’
  3. Follow instructions to resolve hold(s) prior to registration.

There are many more hold possibilities, including, but not limited to the following:

  • Residential Life
  • Transcripts (ES and FA)
  • Campus Police
  • Library
  • Academic Probation
  • Financial 

CHECK TO DO LISTS

  1. Log on to CampusConnection 
  2. Items listed in the To Do List box on the right side of the page are required to complete your file with appropriate office.
  3. Click details or any to do item to view more specific information.

VIEW MY ADVISOR

  1. Log in to CampusConnection
  2. Your advisor name and office phone number will be displayed on the right side of the page.

To send your advisor an email:

  1. Click details.
  2. Click the advisor’s name

To locate your advisor’s office, go to the campus directory.

VIEW ENROLLMENT APPOINTMENT

Once enrolled, students will have a specific date and time that they will be able to start registering for the next semester. Appointments will be available about one week before registration begins.

  1. Log on to CampusConnection
  2. The Enrollment Dates on the right side of the page will provide your registration date.
  3. Click details to determine what time your appointment begins.

OBTAINING AN ENROLLMENT VERIFICATION

  1. Log in to CampusConnection
  2. In the left navigation menu, click Self Service
    • then: Academic Records
    • then: Enrollment Verification
    • then: Choose North Dakota State College of Science
    • then: Self Service Enrollment Verification
    • then: Obtain an Enrollment Verification
  3. Print the certificate and provide to lender, insurance agent, etc.

Note: Enrollment Verification cannot be conducted until after the first week of class has been held.

TRANSFER CREDIT REPORT

  1. Log in to CampusConnection
  2. Under Student Center > Academics click My Academics
  3. Click View my transfer credit report
    • Institution = NDSCS
    • Source Institution = Institution credits are being transferred from
    • Incoming Course = Course as printed on transfer institution transcript
    • Equivalent Course = Lists the equivalent NDSCS course

The resulting report will show all of the courses that were transferred to NDSCS, organized by the transferring institution and the term taken.

The grades and units (credits) earned from the transferring institution, the NDSCS equivalent course, and grade awarded for each course will show on this report. The grade awarded will equal the grade earned from the transferring institution, unless there is an adjustment for grades earned on an alternative grading scale to the scale used at NDSCS. This is more common with international institutions.

VIEWING THE ADVISEMENT REPORT

  1. Log in to CampusConnection
  2. Under Student Center > Academics
  3. click My Academics
  4. Click View my advisement report
    • Different sections of the My Academic Requirements report can be collapsed and expanded by using either the Collapse All or Expand All buttons at the top of the report, or by clicking on the triangle icons to the left of each information segment.
    • Courses will be marked with corresponding Taken, In Progress and Planned icons throughout the report.
  5. Print Advisement Report if desired.

WHAT IF REPORT

  1. In the menu on the left, click Degree Progress/Graduation
  2. Click View What-if Report
  3. Click Create New Report
  4. Fields will pre-populate
  5. Choose a different program(s) under Program Scenario and Academic Program
  6. Click Submit Request
  7. Print What If Report if desired

ADDING and DROPPING CLASSES

Adding Classes

  1. Log on to CampusConnection
  2. Under Student Center > Academics click Enroll
  3. Click the Add tab
  4. Select the term, click Continue (this option is skipped if only eligible to register for one term)
  5. Enter the course number if known
  6. If class number (4 or 5-digit number) is not known, click on the Search tab to search for a course
  7. Use drop-down menu to find Course Subject (Note: To view all available courses in a subject, leave catalog number blank. Use additional search criteria to search by instruction mode, career level, time, instructor, etc.)
  8. Click on Section for course details (course fees, prerequisites, course description, general education, course restrictions, etc.)
  9. To select your desired section, click Select Class
  10. Click Next to add class to Enrollment Shopping Cart
  11. Click Proceed to Step 2 of 3
  12. Confirm class and click Finish Enrolling
  13. Watch for Success or Error messages (Note: Courses with errors are not added to your schedule. Check for holds and obtain class permission, if applicable.)
  14. Click My Class Schedule to review for accuracy, print a copy if desired

Dropping Classes
Note: Dropping a class may have an impact on your Financial Aid. Before dropping a class, please contact Enrollment Services to see if the change in course credits will affect your financial aid award. Classes that are dropped after the 100% refund period are not eligible for a refund of tuition costs.

  1. Under Student Center > Academics click Enroll
  2. Click on the Drop tab
  3. Select the checkbox for the class you wish to drop
  4. Click Drop Selected Classes
  5. Verify the course(s) you wish to drop and click Finish Dropping
  6. Watch for success or error messages (Note: Courses with errors are not removed from your schedule.)

SEARCH COURSE SCHEDULE FOR AVAILABLE CLASSES

  1. Go to the CampusConnection home page
    • (log in is not required).
  2. In the left navigation menu:
    • Click Class Search (if not logged in)
    • Click Class Search/Browse Catalog >
    • Class Search (if logged in)
  3. Select North Dakota State College of Science, choose term, course subject and course number
  4. (if known).
  5. Available sections will be denoted with an availability icon
    • Open = green circle
    • Closed = blue square
    • Wait List = orange triangle
  6. Click on Section for course details (course fees, prerequisites, course description general education, course restrictions, etc.)

SWAP CLASSES

  1. Log on to CampusConnection
  2. Under Student Center > Academics click on Enroll
  3. Choose the swap tab from the top menu.
  4. Select the correct term
  5. Select the class you wish to swap
  6. Enter the Class Number or search for the class you want to add
  7. Click Next
  8. Click Finish Swapping
  9. View the results. The Status Field will display a check mark if it’s a successful swap, or an X if an error has occurred.
  10. Click My Class Schedule to confirm

VIEW/PRINT MY CLASS SCHEDULE

  1. Log on to CampusConnection
  2. Under Student Center > Academics click on Enroll
  3. Click on the My Class Schedule tab
    • If eligible for multiple terms/semesters, careers and institutions, multiple options will appear. Select the appropriate options if applicable.
  4. Select filter options for classes to be displayed (enrolled, dropped and waitlisted classes) then click the ‘filter’ button.
  5. Click on Printer Friendly Page.
  6. Select Print from browser menu bar.

Note: If you wish to display only those courses in which you are enrolled, make sure you have unchecked the Show Dropped Courses box. You may also view your Weekly Schedule by going to: Enrollment > My Weekly Schedule.

WITHDRAW TO ZERO CREDITS

Students who are withdrawing to zero credits for the current semester must complete the withdrawal process by reporting to the appropriate division dean’s office located in the Tech Center or by calling Arts, Science and Business Division at 701-671-2263 or Technologies and Services Division at 701-671-2257.

REFUNDS FOR TOTAL WITHDRAWALS

The applicable refund percentage is based on the calendar date of when the division’s Dean’s Office receives and approves the completed withdrawal paperwork from the student.

VIEW MY GRADES

  1. Log on to CampusConnection
  2. In the left navigation menu, click Self Service
  3. Click Enrollment, select Grades from the drop down box.
  4. Click View My Grades
  5. Select term, continue
  6. Select Printer Friendly Page at the bottom.
  7. Print, if desired

VIEW/PRINT UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT

  1. Log in to CampusConnection
  2. Under Student Center > Academics click on My Academics
  3. Click View My Unofficial Transcript
  4. Academic Institution: select North Dakota State College of Science
  5. Report Type: select Unoff PDF Transfer Details or Unoff PDF Transfer Summary
  6. Click View Report (Note: You may need to have Pop-up Blockers enabled.)
  7. Print, if desired

ORDERING AN OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT

To order an official transcript on security paper:

  1. Log on to CampusConnection
  2. In the left navigation menu, click Self Service
    • then: Academic Records
    • then: Official Transcript Request
  3. Select North Dakota State College of Science from the institution list
  4. Click Order Official Transcript to proceed to the National Student Clearinghouse web site
  5. Click Order or Track a Transcript
  6. Follow the directions to submit your order
  7. You will need a current email address and a valid credit card to place your order online
  8. The standard rate for an official transcript is $5.00

NOTE: Users who cannot access CampusConnection may alternatively request official transcripts at www.GetMyTranscript.com

ACCEPT/DECLINE FA AWARDS

  1. Log on to CampusConnection
  2. Under Student Center > Finances click on Accept/Decline Awards.
  3. Click on aid year you wish to view in the main body of the page
    • Accept your awards by checking the “Accept” box for each award (or clicking the “Accept All” button). Please note some types of aid may already be accepted on your behalf.
    • Click Submit
    • When prompted, click Yes to save. If prompted, click OK to confirm.

MASTER PROMISSORY NOTE

  1. Sign in at www.studentloans.gov
  2. You will need:
    • Social Security Number
    • First two letters of last name
    • Date of Birth in mm/dd/yyyy format
    • FAFSA Pin Number
  3. Click Complete MPN, on left side of screen Under Master Promissory Note.
  4. Click Subsidized/Unsubsidized
  5. Follow on screen instructions.

VIEW STUDENT ACCOUNT INFORMATION

Students are responsible for accessing and verifying their student account information (tuition/fees, room/board, etc.) is accurate on CampusConnection.

  1. Log on to CampusConnection
  2. Go to Student Center > Finances. Your account summary will display total amount owed.

To obtain account details:

  1. Click Account Inquiry
  2. Choose Activity from the menu at the top of the page

Note: Account Activity may be viewed by specific Institution and/or term.

ONLINE PAYMENTS

Online payments can be made through a checking/savings account, check card or credit card.

  1. Log on to CampusConnection
  2. Under Student Center > Finances, click Pay Online Now.
  3. Choose Payments from the menu at the top of the page.
  4. If you have attended multiple campuses, choose the appropriate campus from the drop-down menu.
  5. Click Go.

To make a payment:

  1. Click Pay in the action column on the right side of the screen.
  2. Select payment method from the drop down menu.
  3. Click Go.
  4. Complete payment options.
  5. Click Continue.
  6. Click Submit Payment.

Payment Confirmations and e-mails must be maintained by the student for payment verification as NDSCS is unable to duplicate this information or provide it at a later date.

PRINT STATEMENT (eBILLS)

This prints the last eBill emailed to your campus email address. If an eBill has not been sent via email, it will not be available.

  1. Log in to CampusConnection
  2. Under Student Center > Finances, click Pay Online Now.
  3. Choose eBills from the menu at the top of the page.
  4. Click Print This Statement.
  5. In the menu at the top of the browser, click File.
  6. Click Print.

VIEW 1098-T INFORMATION

  1. Log on to CampusConnection
  2. Under Student Center > Finances, click View 1098-T Info.
  3. On the Account Services Page, click on the link in the Tax Year.
  4. A new browser will open with 1098-T information.
  5. Print, if desired.

To view individual charges included in the 1098-T totals:

  1. Log on to CampusConnection
  2. Under Student Center > Finances, click View 1098-T Info.
  3. On the Account Services Page, click on the link in the Tax Year.
  4. Select "Box Amount" tab.

COMPLETE A FINANCIAL OBLIGATION AGREEMENT (FOA)

Follow the directions below to complete your FOA today. For detailed instructions with screen shots, please review the Instructions to Complete FOA document.

  1. Log on to CampusConnection
  2. Under Student Center > Finances, click Financial Obligation Agreement.
  3. Select the applicable institution and current term you'll be registering for.
  4. Click Submit.
  5. Review the Financial Obligation Agreement.
  6. Click Accept or Decline

Note: Accepting the FOA completes the process for the term you selected. Declining the FOA restricts a student from registering for the term selected.
