Prep for college during the NDSCS College Readiness Academy

The College Readiness Academy is an eight-week program in June and July, held on the Wahpeton campus, that is designed to help you to develop academic skills to increase your chances for success during college courses, college life and in the real world. The academy offers a combination of preparatory courses to strengthen an individual's reading and writing, math, science, study and computer skills.

FYE The Science of Success

We want to make sure you succeed, and our Science of Success course is a big step in the right direction. Taken during your first semester, the one-credit course is designed to help you adjust to college in a laid back and fun atmosphere. Some of the topics covered in this class are:

  • Time Management
  • Money Management and Budgeting
  • Wellness
  • Campus and Library Tours
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Test Anxiety and Study Skills

Student Academic Services

We recommend that you get familiar with student academic services and resources on campus.

  • Tutoring through the Academic Services Center
  • Library
  • Academic Advising
  • Co-op and internship opportunities
  • Accessibility Services
