Challenge Examinations
A student may seek credit by challenging a course. Students need to challenge a course within the first two weeks of the semester in which they are registered for the course. The course challenge fee is an additional 50 percent of the regular tuition charge and is nonrefundable.
Students challenging online classes will be charged an additional $10 online access fee. Online challenge exams need to be taken before the semester starts. Contact the Distance Education office for more information about the process at 1-800-342-4325, ext. 3-2347.
Application forms are available in each division dean's office. Unsuccessful challenges are not recorded. The grade earned can be either satisfactory/ unsatisfactory or a letter grade at the discretion of the student prior to taking the examination, except a letter grade is required in a major subject area. The letter grade must be ‘C’ or better. Failing grades are not recorded.
