Campus Housing

On-campus housing is available to 716 men and 282 women in a variety of residence halls. In addition, 123 two-bedroom apartments are available to families and groups of students.

NDSCS policy dictates all first-time enrolled students under the age of 21 without dependents who are not living with their spouses, parents, or legal guardians are required to live on campus in one of the residence halls and purchase either a 160 or 225 Dining Plan.

Room assignments are made by the Residence Life office beginning in March for the following school year. Necessary wellness and special needs accommodations and roommate requests will be honored whenever possible and practical.

Single-room accommodations may be available in all halls on a limited basis.

All the residence halls are smoke-free. Use of tobacco products is prohibited in all.

Residence hall rates for 2008-09 are $1,652 per student in a double room and $2,301 per student in a single room. These rates are for the full academic year. Please note the rates listed do not include the cost of a dining plan. Please see the Dining Services information for dining plan descriptions and costs. Residence hall rates are set in March for the following year.

Students residing in NDSCS apartment units may be eligible for Housing Assistance. Contact the Housing office (701) 671-2224 for more information and to receive a copy of the Housing Assistance Application Form.

Student residents in college apartments pay their own electricity charges through individual contracts with Ottertail Power Company.

Single student apartments are assessed a telephone fee of $5 per student.

How to Apply for Campus Housing

Applicants for NDSCS receive a packet entitled “Application Booklet.” The Housing Application may be returned with the Admissions Application. All first-time college students under the age of 21 who are not living with parents, legal guardians, spouse or dependents are required to reside on-campus. Early application is encouraged. Students applying for the residence halls must provide a $25 non-refundable application fee. Students interested in the college apartments (single/family) must provide a $100 refundable deposit before housing can be assigned.
