The Architectural Drafting and Estimating Technology program is designed to prepare students for work as technicians in construction related industries, allowing graduates to work in a broad range of jobs, such as drafting, estimating, sales, construction management and project coordination. General contractors, subcontractors, home builders, architectural and engineering firms, material suppliers, manufacturers, and building centers all have specific areas of employment for graduates of this program.
Students should also review the computer and software requirements needed for this program so they have what they need for class.
There are also Certificates of Completion available in two focus areas most commonly requested by students working in jobs related to the Drafting field:
- Estimating
- Residential Drafting
Students who are working and need an education in either of these specific areas may take the suggested courses without completing the entire Architectural Drafting program. A certificate of Completion will be awarded upon completion of the suggested classes in each focus area.
