NDSCS Band and Concert Choir to perform October 23 Posted on 10/19/2012
NDSCS Concert Band, Concert Choir, Wildcat Singers and Wildcat Stage Band will hold their annual fall concert on October 23, 2012 in the Harry Stern and Ella Stern Cultural Center at 7:30 p.m.
The Concert Band will be performing several pieces under the direction of Laurie Lekang, including: “Down in the Valley,” by Pierra la Plante, and a medley of The Best of Journey, featuring “Don’t Stop Believin’, “Open Arms” and “Any Way You Want It,” arranged by Paul Murtha.
The Wildcat Stage Band will also be performing a variety of pop pieces, including the well-known “I Gotta Feeling,” which was recorded by the Black Eyed Peas and arranged by Paul Murtha, and Adele Adkins and Paul Epworth’s “Rollin’ in the Deep,” arranged by Roger Holmes.
The Concert Choir is set to perform six numbers under the direction of Michael Rockne, including two pieces arranged by Mac Huff: “Maria/One Hand, One Heart,” a selection from the West Side Story Choral Suite, and “The Impossible Dream” from Man of La Mancha.
The Wildcat Singers will also sing a few popular pieces, such as “Man in the Mirror,” arranged by Ed Lojeski, and “All of Me,” arranged by Steve Zegree.
The concert is free and open to the public. Free-will donations will be accepted at a reception following the performance in the Harry Stern and Ella Stern Cultural Center lobby.
