Wildcats claim two victories this week

Posted on 9/23/2012

The NDSCS Volleyball team moved to 13-4 as well as an eight game win streak after their two wins at home on Wednesday and Friday against Dakota College of Bottineau (DCB) and Dakota County Technical College (DCTC). Both matches were wrapped up in three games.

On Wednesday, the Cats won over DCB in a quick three games: 25-9, 25-12 and 25-18.  Leading NDSCS to victory was Katie Wangberg with 21 assists and nine kills.

On Friday, NDSCS took down DCTC in three: 25-15, 25-16 and 25-15.  Offensively, the Cats were led by Danielle Brewer, Fargo, N.D., with 17 assists, and Moriah Skroch, Lidgerwood, N.D., with 10 kills. On the defensive end, the leader was Shellina Irwin, Wasilla, Alaska, with 15 digs.

“We did a great job of serving,” said Coach Passa.  “We also did a nice job of establishing our middles.”

The Wildcats continue their winning streak and hope to keep it alive this week with several matches.  First NDSCS will travel to play Jamestown JV on Monday, then a big home match Thursday against Williston State College and follow up Friday and Saturday at their NDSCS Tournament here in Wahpeton, N.D.  The matches on Monday and Thursday will start at 7 p.m.
