| Writing Lab offers walk-in instructional and computer support for English courses and for writing projects in any content area. English support includes literary analysis, essay writing, computerized study of vocabulary and English as a Second Language. | |
| Based on entry-level assessment results, students are scheduled for ASC 87 College Writing Prep, a developmental writing course, and ASC 88 Composition Lab, a companion-writing lab, for students enrolled in English 105, English 110 and English 120. |

| • ASC 60 English Language and Grammer Skills. | |
| • ASC 67 English as a Second Language (1 or 2 credits). | |
| • ASC 87 College Writing Prep (3 credits): A preparatory course for students who have not started their English sequence. | |
| • Review the required text or materials, course policies, goals and expected student contributions. | |
| • Review the requirements for this course. | |
| • ASC 88 Composition Lab (1 credit): a companion course for students enrolled in English composition courses. | |

| • Individual assistance for writing assignments in any class at the college. | |
| • Discussion of ways to make writing more clear and effective. | |
| • Help with finding and revising patterns of errors. | |
| • Help with learning to use a computer for word processing. | |
| • Help with using the Internet for academic research. | |
| • Use of reference materials such as dictionaries and writing handbooks. | |
