Rain, sleet and snow could not stop nearly 900 guests from attending the 13th annual DREAM$ Auction on Friday, April 11, 2008. After an early morning North Dakota snow storm, guests, volunteers and student ambassadors found their way to the Clair T. Blikre Activities Center for the event that included entertainment, a silent auction, live auction, strolling buffet and raffle.

More than 200 volunteers and 80 student ambassadors provided time, treasures and talents to make the event a success including volunteer auctioneers Bruce Christianson, Jerome Hansen, Derek Ostby and Rod and Lois Westby. Student ambassadors spent the evening valet parking, selling raffle tickets, displaying gift items and greeting guests.

DREAM$ is both an acronym and a mission that stands for “Directing Resources to Educate And Mentor Students.” That mission led to organizing the single largest fundraising event of the year to fulfill the dreams of students needing scholarships and also provide operational support for the Alumni/Foundation. The 2008 DREAM$ auction raised more than $80,000 to help support students at NDSCS as they prepare to achieve the dreams they envision for themselves.
