Parent Information

Welcome to the North Dakota State College of Science.
NDSCS recognizes that parents are a leading influence in their students college choices. The information and the links on this page are designed to provide answers to parents questions and to provide some insight into what they can expect when their children are NDSCS students. NDSCS has more than 100 years of tradition in providing a quality education. Over 54,000 graduates have earned a certificate, diploma or an associate degree from NDSCS. We want your student to become part of the tradition at NDSCS and started on the career path to success.
NDSCS offers a local, friendly and familiar atmosphere, which fosters a positive learning environment for students. Classes are taught by instructors who want to see students succeed. NDSCS faculty and staff take an active interest in providing students with the best education through quality teaching, small classroom size and personal interaction.
Campus Life: NDSCS is a unique two-year college that offers the atmosphere and opportunities one would expect only at a four-year university. NDSCS teaches more than 80 academic options in career and technical education fields and in the liberal arts.
Unlike most two-year colleges, NDSCS provides a complete collegiate experience on a 130-acre campus-eight residence halls, more than 30 clubs and organizations, a full calendar of student activities, musical performing groups, theatrical productions and strong intercollegiate athletics teams. An award-winning Academic Services Center helps students develop skills necessary to complete their studies. More than 95 percent of NDSCS graduates continue their studies or enter the workforce in their chosen field.
Location: NDSCS is located in the heart of Wahpeton, city of 8,500 people in the state’s southeastern corner.
The Area: Wahpeton and its sister city-Breckenridge, Minn., straddle the headwaters of the Red River of the North. Together, Wahpeton and Breckenridge boast an 18-hole golf course, large parks, canoeing and fishing, movie theater and numerous restaurants. The cities are conveniently located within an hour’s drive of Fargo-Moorhead and the Minnesota lakes country. With easy access to Interstates 29 and 94, the drive from Wahpeton to Minneapolis and other cities is about three hours.
Admission Requrements: NDSCS is an open-door college, and all students are eligible for application. Several programs at NDSCS have specific admissions requirements, and the Enrollment Services Office can provide more information.
